The first domestic high-speed 3D endoscopic OCT imaging system came out

Release date: 2013-03-13

The latest news, China's first high-speed 3D endoscopic OCT imaging system was successfully launched at the Xi'an Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as "Xi'an Opto-mechanical Institute"). This equipment fills the technical gap in China in this field, and the key indicators have reached the technical level of international similar products.
According to reports, the device uses a self-developed micro-fiber probe to perform optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans at the vascular embolization of patients with heart disease, and to obtain a clear 3D endoscopic image of the embolization. This imaging technology can help doctors accurately position the stent during cardiac surgery, and can help doctors to directly observe the vascular lesion morphology and cardiac stent placement. In addition, its image speed and resolution far exceed the existing vascular ultrasound (IVUS) and cardiac X-ray (DSA) technologies. The device has revolutionary significance for effectively preventing stent restenosis and thrombotic stent formation, early screening and effective prevention of myocardial infarction, and research and evaluation of cardiac stent safety.
It is understood that OCT technology is an emerging biomedical imaging technology. The technology can obtain the internal structure of the biological tissue by detecting the scattered light signal, and has the characteristics of high resolution, losslessness and high speed. The 3D endoscopic OCT imaging system developed by Xi'an Opto-mechanical System has an imaging resolution of about 12 microns and a scanning speed of 40 kHz, which is about twice the speed of traditional ophthalmic OCT scanning.
