First, the characteristics of the disease
Chicken chronic respiratory disease, also known as septicomycosis of chickens, chickens of all ages can be infected, especially in large groups of 1 to 2 months of age of young chickens most likely to occur, adult chickens are mostly insidious infections, generally The symptoms are not obvious. The source of infection of this disease is diseased chickens and occult chickens. When diseased chickens come in contact with healthy chickens, the pathogens infect the body by inhaling droplets or dust through the respiratory tract. In the same shed, pathogens spread the disease from one flock to another flock through contaminated equipment, feed, and drinking water. However, the most important mode of transmission is vertical transmission through infected eggs. The disease can occur throughout the year, but it is most severe in winter and spring. Cold winter and spring weather, sudden temperature changes, excessive density, crowded chickens, poor ventilation, and chickens being exposed to Newcastle disease and other factors have contributed to the outbreak or recurrence of chicken chronic respiratory disease. The disease is chronic and has a long duration. The incidence rate can be over 60%, and the mortality rate of young chickens such as other diseases can reach 30%.
Second, the symptoms
Young chickens first sneeze and have a liquid or mucus nasal fluid. Obvious tracheal rales, loss of appetite, slow growth of some chickens due to accumulation of exudates under the eyelids caused swelling of the eyelids, eye protruding, hands can be used to extrude yellow-white cheese-like substances. The general symptoms of laying hens infection are not obvious, but the performance egg production and hatching rate are reduced.
Third, the prevention of disease
1. Strictly eliminate the source of infection as far as possible to achieve self-bred and self-cultivation, and timely detection and isolation of diseased chickens. Chickens, Miao chickens, and eggs must be introduced from farms without the disease.
2. Strengthen the feeding and management The rearing density should not be too large. The chicken house should be well ventilated with sufficient sunshine to prevent chickens from getting cold. The feed should be properly coordinated to expel the parasites periodically and pay attention to the disinfection of the house.
3. Pay attention to the hygienic and disinfecting of the egg. Before the hatching, heat the egg mouth to 37°C, then quickly place it in 2～4°C solution for every 1000ml of the solution containing tylosin or erythromycin 400-1000mg. In minutes, it can reduce the prevalence of eggs.
4. To prevent the onset of chicks 1 to 3 days old chicks should drink 0.05% tylosin solution, and then drink for 1 day when they are affected by stress factors such as vaccination, colony, and temperature changes. It is also possible to use 2,000 units of streptomycin droplets on the first day of hatching of the chicks, or to mix the streptomycin with the Newcastle Disease vaccine while nasal drops.
IV. Pharmaceutical treatment
1. Intramuscular injection of 50-80 milligrams of streptomycin per day to 5 to 6 week-old chicks, intramuscular injection of 200 milligrams per day to adult chickens, and continuous injection for 2 to 3 days.
2. Large groups of treatment, add 1-2 grams of oxytetracycline per kilogram of feed, mix thoroughly, and feed continuously for 1 week.
3. 3 grams of tylosin was dissolved in 4000 ml of drinking water for 7 days.
4. Add 0.5 g of erythromycin per kilogram of feed and feed for 4 days.
