At the Shengjing Hospital Rehabilitation Center, the lower limb walking robot has begun to apply: wearing a sophisticated "mechanical leg" allows the patient to hover under the machine frame for a "space walk." This has helped many patients who are unable to stand on their own to get help from the machine. This "mechanical leg" makes the rehabilitation exercise easy and stable.
Professor Zhang Zhiqiang, director of the rehabilitation center of Shengjing Hospital, said that patients who are suffering from sputum due to fractures, spinal injuries, brain strokes, etc., have been able to practice walking in the past when they are doing rehabilitation. Now with the help of the lower limb walking robot, patients who had to take two weeks to stand under the support of the knees can stand up in a week, greatly reducing the recovery time. In the center alone, there are more than 50 patients who benefit from medical robots every day.
The reporter learned that in terms of rehabilitation, medical robots can help patients with fractures, spinal injuries, hemiplegia and other sports rehabilitation through external forces, speeding up the recovery of patients; in the surgery of heart, head, orthopedics, robots can also replace surgeons.
