China will regulate and guide endoscopic diagnosis and treatment management

The National Endoscope Management Management and Technology Exchange Conference organized by the Department of Health of the Ministry of Health and organized by the Ministry of Health Personnel Exchange Service Center was held in Beijing recently.

There have been three major issues in the surgical field: bleeding, pain, and infection. With the development of medical technology and medical materials, these problems have been well controlled and resolved, especially with the emergence of minimally invasive diagnostic techniques represented by endoscopy, which effectively alleviates bleeding, pain and infection problems. Vice Minister of Health Ma Xiaowei attended the meeting and pointed out that while the rapid development of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment technology benefits the general public, the endoscopic diagnosis and treatment technology involves many clinical specialties. Some of the technical specialties are very strong, the operation is complex, the risks are high, and the difficulty is great. If you do not strengthen management, there will be a certain degree of security risks. For a long period of time, there has been uneven development in the clinical application of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment techniques and the training of endoscopic surgeons, and the development has been unbalanced. Some medical institutions blindly develop new technologies and complex technologies without satisfying their own conditions and technical capabilities, neglecting the complexity and high-riskness of the technology and causing serious threats to the patient's physical health and life safety.

Ma Xiaowei emphasized that in the next step to advance the clinical application management of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment technology, it will further standardize and guide. First of all, we must standardize the management of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment technology; Second, we must strengthen the quality control of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment technology; Third, we must carry out standardized training, strengthen the endoscopic physician talent team construction, and constantly improve the clinical application of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment technology. He asked health administrative departments and medical institutions at all levels to fully understand the importance of carrying out technical standardization training and strengthening the construction of endoscopic physician talents, increasing investment, careful organization, and ensuring the smooth progress of work.

Academician Zhao Yupei of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Academician Fan Daiming, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and other guests attended the opening ceremony. More than 1,500 representatives from the relevant departments of the Ministry of Health, the provincial and municipal health bureaus, the tertiary hospitals, and the Chinese Medical Association’s professional team participated in the conference.
